You have made several mentions that you once (in your younger, more naive years) aligned yourself with Conservatives but that has clearly changed. What caused such a radical shift in your thinking? Is there a blog that outlined your conversion that I can be directed to? Or perhaps I have given you fodder for a future entry? Its funny to me to watch those now because I was telling people some of the same things as my boy Pete. Even given the current way things are you would be surprised how little financial advice has changed. Everyone still says "buy a house, invest in car companies, invest in bad banks" Wowza. Peter Schiff was on the freaking mark with everything that he was talking about. I can't believe that the reports and other financial guys were totally unprofessional. Kudos to Peter Schiff who was trying to alert the general public. It just stinks that him and I'm sure a lot of other people went unheard. holy.. sh*t..(sorry.. but that is my honest to goodness reaction) thats all i can say.. that is INSANE. Talk about over reacting dude... I NEVER was trying to lump anyone with anything. If you actually watch the video, you can see that the other financial expert WERE being jerks to this guy. They were laughing at him and making fun of him like it was junior high school... that is ALL I said. Never once did I call conservative jerks... you were the one that assumed it. Reread. However, I do understand why you would be so on edge given the state of politics in this country and Republican party in general. T-Day is in Tucson... if you can come back to earth and chill for a minute call me and I will give you the details. WHAT!!??

Cond Fri, 14 Nov 2008 17:36:07 +0000 http://www.rethynk.org/?p=284#comment-1197 I applaud you on trying to find information regarding the current financial crisis and those who warned people about this issue. Unfortunately you are lumping in "conservative analysts with those conservatives that are actually in congress, thus the video does not prove that the financial crisis that we are in is a conservative issue. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are were clearly set up by the government in the early thirties, then reformed by Jimmy Carter and then Bill Clinton, it is clearly not a republican program. But that is here nor there, the real issue that I have with your post is the over the top reaction that you make against conservatives, by calling them jerks, that is ridiculous. I would ask that the next time you write a post you think about what you are typing so that you may set up an intellectual argument opposed to one based out of emotion. Lastly, I would implore you to copy and paste the link below, which will lead you to Powerline, yes it is a conservative blog so don't freak out, what you will find is a letter by 20 conservative senators, one being John McCain, warning about the financial crisis which we find ourselves in currently. Also, please not the date on this letter, May 5, 2006. http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2008/10/021750.php I hope all is well and I will be there for Thanksgiving, Mark S.
