I am sucker for good electronic music… (insert joke here).
No, really, I like electronic, electronic and techno. Its a genre that is diverse, requires talent, and never really dies. Anyways, one of my favorite bands is The Presets. They blew me away with their last album and I just downloaded their most recent one, Apocalypso.
To quickly summarize, the hard songs hit harder than the last album, and the not hard ones are much more experimental. The trademark distorted low-bass beats are all over the place on ‘Lypso and it has actually inspired me to shop for decent in-ear, bass range headphones.
Its probably too early to say, but I think my favorite track is going to be “Eucalyptus.” This song starts off feeling like something you would hear during a chase scene in the Tron movie remake, but then it surprises you with a wall of chorus keys on the chorus which features chord that sounds intriguingly out-of-place. Listen to it, you’ll see what I mean.
And as always, their website is crazy cool. The flash menu app is updated constantly and mirrors the same creative mesmerizing video featured in the “Are You the One?” music video.
So, when no one is looking and you are all by yourself, check out Apocalypso by The Presets… you will dig it even if you won’t admit.
