Only in Alaska

Gov. Palin exercised her gubernatorial powers by pardoning a turkey for Thanksgiving at an Alaskan turkey farm. Then proceeded to conduct interviews with the media… all the while, not-so-lucky turkeys were being slaughtered in the background. This is great TV.

r you kidding me.. r you freakin kidding me?!?! that is just beautiful.. nothing like holding a press event right where they are killing the turkeys.. I am sure PETA will be having a hayday with that..

Couple of thoughts on this one.

Number one, you gotta pay attention to your surroudings. I’m sure the camera man intentionally angled and framed the shot to be able to include the turkey farmer working his magic, but as a politician she probably should have paid a little bit more attention.

Secondly, and more importantly in my book. DUH! So turkeys are getting killed, what do people think that they just give up their bodies out of generosity? At least the guy wasn’t back there on a tree stump with a hatchet.
